The national parks of Tanzania are famous all over the world. Starting with the Serengeti and the annual migration of wildebeests, over the Ngorongoro Crater, to the Kilimanjaro National Park with the largest freestanding mountain in Africa.
But also the Tarangire National Park with its elephant herds, the Arusha Park with Mount Meru and countless giraffes, the Lake Manyara National Park with its species-rich bird life (especially during the winter time) in the north are definitely worth a visit.
In the south and east invite the Selous Game Reserve, the Mikumi, Ruaha, Udzungwa and Saadani to discover. Here you have the opportunity to travel away from the tourist crowds.
Quite remote are the parks in western Tanzania: Katavi, Gombe and Mahale. Getting there is not that easy, but it's rewarded with a visit to the chimpanzees and the absolute Out of Africa feeling.
