Kigali
Today your East Africa trip starts with the arrival in Kigali. Ru- andas capital is the largest city in the country and is built on hills surrounded by mountains. There arrived you solve the visa for East Africa. Your guide is already waiting for you and will take you to the hotel for check-in.
Crossing the border and arrival Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
After breakfast you will be picked up and drive across the Ugandan border to Bwindi National Park. This forest reserve is home to mountain gorillas, elephants, chimpanzees and other monkey species and various small antelopes. The drive takes only about 3-4 hours and takes you through the evergreen hills of Rwanda into the Ugandan highlands. You will spend the night in the evergreen highlands of Bwindi National Park.
Gorilla Trekking in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Today follows the highlight of your Uganda trip: The visit of the mountain gorillas! Early in the morning you will be briefed by the gorillas and assigned to the guides before you head into the rainforest. The gorillas you will visit belong to one of 9 families that tolerate the presence of humans for a short time during the day. The hike takes you through the mountain slopes. On the way your guide will explain to you about the gorillas, their life and habitat. The hike takes at least 2 hours until you arrive at the gorillas. Then you may spend a maximum of 1 hour with the gorillas and observe them. Afterwards you will return to your accommodation.
Return to Rwanda
After breakfast you leave Bwindi and drive back over the Rwandan border to Kigali. Here we will show you the city including the Genocid Museum and the Presidential Palace in the afternoon. The rest of the day is at your leisure.
Departure
2 hours before departure you will be picked up from your hotel and taken to the airport. Here you will check in with a suitcase full of memories for your flight home.

This woodland preservation area is home to mountain gorillas, elephants, chimpanzees and other monkey species as well as various small antelopes. In Uganda, the endangered mountain gorillas are also protected in the Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.
